We’ve been seeing you and your cat food everywhere, so we are very excited to meow with you. We’ve also never interviewed a cat before, so let’s see how this goes!
Martie: What’s the mission behind Made by Nacho?
Nacho: First off, thanks for having me. Although I’m a business mogul with a cool 60k followers on @madebynacho (plus another 230k on my personal handle @nachoflay), my dad and co-founder, Chef Bobby Flay, never lets me get a word in edgewise. Frankly, it’s about time I get the floor.
As far as the mission goes, mine is to have my dad cater to my every whim. Made by Nacho’s mission is to give cats everywhere everything they need to live full, nourished lives. For us, that starts in the kitchen.
Martie: Can we peep beyond the food bowl and understand more about how the food is made and taste-tested?
Nacho: Write this down: Nothing, and I mean nothing, leaves the kitchen without my stamp of approval.
I’ve supervised my dad’s cooking for what feels like eight of my nine lives. After seeing the thought and care he put into his people food, I demanded we do something about mine. At Made by Nacho, our ingredients are chef-approved, our flavors and textures are cat-approved, and our recipes are pet nutritionist-approved.
As far as taste-testing goes … do you believe in destiny?
Martie: Speaking of tasting…what’s your favorite Made By Nacho food?
Nacho: Martie, Martie, that’s like asking me to choose a favorite kitten (JK, it’s my baby sister Stella by a mile!) But, if you insist, here’s a breakdown of my top three favs right now:
- Minced Chicken: Little protein bites drenched in my signature bone broth gravy
- Salmon & Herring Pate: Stella’s #1, silky-smooth and just right for faceplanting
- Freeze-Dried Treats: They’re raw. They’re pure. They’re freakin’ delicious.
- Bonus: My ride-or-die treat flavor? Freeze-dried chicken breast!
Martie: What has been your biggest “meow” moment when building Made By Nacho?
Nacho: I’m not a sentimental fella, but seeing how much cats everywhere dig my food, well, it gives me the warm and fluffies. It’s MY name on the line, after all.
Martie: What’s in the pipeline next for Made By Nacho?
Nacho: I can’t tell you what’s in the pipeline, but I can tell you what’s in my food bowl. It’s Salmon, Pumpkin, & Whitefish Kibble with a soupçon of Shredded Turkey in Bone Broth.
Martie: Why is working with Martie important to Made By Nacho?
Nacho: Bottom line, once a cat gets a taste of my recipes, there’s no turning back. I aim to get Made by Nacho in food bowls from coast to coast. What better way to spread the love than with the good folks at Martie?
