Martie: What’s the mission behind Yo Mama’s?
David: Our company is on a mission to bring the world back to the table through healthy and delicious foods. If it’s not an ingredient your mom has in her kitchen, it doesn’t go into our products - no gums, fillers, or preservatives. Since our start on Mother’s Day 2017 in Clearwater, Florida - we have grown to over 17,000 retail stores nationwide and a #1 best seller on Amazon for 5 years in a row.

Martie: And we gotta know…tell us about the name, Yo Mama’s!
David: My mom and grandma are the main inspiration behind the brand. Growing up, they brought loved ones around the table through healthy and delicious foods which is exactly what we do today! They crafted fresh sauces and dressings without using any preservatives, gums, or fillers. This philosophy is important as it's the main root of our brand - if an ingredient isn't commonly found in Mom's kitchen, it won't go into our sauces!
Martie: Can we peep beyond the label and learn more about the food, and how it’s made?
David: Our motto at Yo Mama’s Foods is to only use ingredients your own mother would have in her kitchen. No preservatives or artificial ingredients. We source fresh ingredients from all over the US and use California grown tomatoes in our pasta sauces. Our customers love the fresh taste, fresh ingredients, and the lower sodium + no sugar added in our products. These time saving fundamentals allow families to eat healthier and cleaner, without having to spend a lot of time making delicious sauces and dressings.
Martie: What’s the best way to enjoy Yo Mama’s products?

Martie: What has been your biggest “aha” moment when building Yo Mama’s?
David: Customers are looking for better and healthier options that taste good and save time! It’s not enough to create natural foods. They have to taste good and save customers time. In today’s busy world, not everyone has 8 hours to cook a great sauce from scratch. That is where we come in!
Martie: What’s in the pipeline next for Yo Mama’s?
David: We are working on launching 2 new categories this year - stay tuned!
Martie: How did Yo Mama’s end up on Martie?
David: A Martie buyer reached out and explained Martie’s mission and we found great alignment with our company and mission.
Martie: Why is working with Martie important to Yo Mama’s?
David: Reducing food waste and giving all people access to healthy and delicious foods is why we are in business!
