Martie: What’s the mission behind BO 3.0?
Bo: Our mission behind BO 3.0 is to provide a superior hydration solution that goes beyond quenching thirst by supporting overall health and wellness. BO 3.0 is designed to empower active individuals with a scientifically backed formula that promotes optimal hydration while enhancing cardiovascular health, joint mobility, and immunity. Our goal is to fuel ambition and enable people to perform at their best—both on and off the field—by offering a product that not only hydrates but also contributes to long-term well-being.
Martie: How did the idea come to life for BO 3.0?
Bo: The idea for BO 3.0 came to life when we learned that category leader Liquid IV had so much sugar, and we realized that we could improve the ratio of sodium to other electrolytes. I began this journey with my partner, Larry Wert, the co-founder of BO 3.0. We both noticed the hydration packet space didn’t have a comprehensive product.
Hydration is critical for maintaining peak performance but most products on the market were limited in their benefits, focusing primarily on electrolytes without addressing broader health needs like heart health and joint support.
We wanted to create a product that went beyond basic hydration and provided comprehensive health benefits. Partnering with leading scientists and health experts, we developed BO 3.0—a drink that not only hydrates but also supports cardiovascular function, enhances joint mobility, and strengthens the immune system through clinically backed ingredients. BO 3.0 is a hydration solution for people who want to take care of their bodies at every stage of life.
Martie: Tell us about when you drink BO 3.0, and what is your favorite flavor?
Bo: I drink BO 3.0 everyday. As of late before or during my rounds of golf. In general, BO 3.0 is my go-to because it does more than just hydrate—it helps support my heart and joints, and that’s important to me as I continue to push my body.
As for my favorite flavor? I like them all. I was part of the process in picking the flavors so it is hard to pick one.
Martie: What has been your biggest “aha” moment when building BO 3.0?
Bo: My biggest ‘aha’ moment when building BO 3.0 came when I realized that hydration could do so much more than just replenish fluids. As an athlete, I’ve always known the importance of staying hydrated, but as I worked with scientists and experts on this project, it hit me—hydration should be a comprehensive solution. Why not create a product that not only hydrates but also supports your heart, joints, and immune system?
That’s when everything clicked for me. BO 3.0 became more than just a hydration drink. It became a way to help people take care of their overall health in one simple step. It was about creating something that could fuel not just athletes, but anyone who’s active and wants to keep their body in top shape. That realization pushed us to develop something truly unique and meaningful.
Martie: What’s in the pipeline next for BO 3.0?
Bo: We’re just getting started! Right now, we’re working on expanding the line with new flavors and possibly different formats to make it even more convenient for people to stay hydrated and healthy. We’re also exploring partnerships with wellness and fitness brands to bring BO 3.0 to more people who need that extra edge in their hydration routine.
In addition to expanding the product line, we’re looking into more functional benefits that align with our mission of supporting overall health. We’re listening to our customers, and we’re excited to innovate and keep pushing the boundaries of what a hydration drink can do. The goal is to continue offering a product that truly helps people live healthier, more active lives.
Martie: Tell us about how BO 3.0 ended up on Martie?
Bo: We experienced a misprint on our packaging with our best by date due to an older file being sent to the printer by mistake. Rest assured, the product is completely safe and of the highest quality. Rather than wasting it because of a printer error, one of our trusted partners suggested we reach out to Martie, and it turned out to be the perfect solution.
